BLACKPINK successfully held the first day of the BORN PINK in Jakarta concert on Saturday, March 11, 2023. Jennie, Lisa, Rose, and Jisoo greeted BLINK Indonesia with enthusiasm. In fact, they admitted that Jakarta was the most crowded location during the BORN PINK concert in several countries.
However, BORN PINK in Jakarta received a lot of criticism from fans. BLINK criticized the promoters, IME Indonesia and Tiket.com, especially on the issue of seating and tickets. BLINK who became victims expressed their frustration through social media. So, what are the ‘sins’ of the BLACKPINK BORN PINK in Jakarta promoter? Here’s the list!
1. Unavailable Seats
The audience complained about not getting a seat when entering the BLACKPINK concert area at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium. Twitter account @rizkypewpew, for example, admitted that he did not get a seat in the Platinum area, even though the ticket he had exchanged contained a seat number.
2. Asked to Occupy Any Seat
BLINKs who did not get a seat were asked by officers to occupy any seat. But of course, the seat has a master or even turns out to have two owners.
3. Sitting on the Fence
Unfortunately, the audience who could not get a seat was not given a solution by IME Indonesia and tiket.com. As a result, some BLINKs with platinum tickets were forced to sit on the guardrail. Even then, some BLINKs had to take turns sitting in that inappropriate place.
4. Dirty Glass Barrier
This time, according to Twitter @yuyohanyo, CAT 4 experienced inconvenience because the glass in front of their seats was blurry. Either not cleaned or exposed to dirt, BLINK was seen working together to clean the divider glass to see BLACKPINK more clearly.
5. Standing audience blocking the screen and stage
Twitter account @raang_riing shared a short video of the Platinum Left area that casually stood up. According to several fans, the Platinum section security staff were not assertive when reprimanding fans who stood.
6. Fans Standing on Seats but Ignored by Staff
Just like the previous point, the TikTok account @ameliakbarr, shared the behavior of a number of fans who did not want to stand. Worse, some people are desperate to stand on chairs. Unfortunately, no officer reprimanded. As a result, the account owner decided to go home before BLACKPINK finished the concert.
7. Double Seat Number
BLACKPINK BORN PINK in Jakarta promoter opened on-site ticket sales (OTS). But, fans complained about the effect of OTS being a double seat number booking. Whoops!
8. Many BLINKs were forced to stand
Because there were no seats according to the ticket number, some BLINKs were forced to stand during the concert. TikTok account @moneydrop showed some fans who were half standing leaning against the fence to enjoy the concert. They can’t stand perfectly because they will block the audience behind. On the other hand, they also couldn’t sit because the stage and screen wouldn’t be visible.
9. Singer Melly Goeslaw gets scolded
Indonesia’s top musician, Melly Goeslaw also came to watch BLACKPINK BORN PINK in Jakarta on the first day. Unfortunately, Melly’s seat didn’t seem to be available like some other fans. Through her Instagram, Melly claimed to have squatted in the Platinum area before some staff brought additional chairs. The chair was also lacking. Not only that, Melly Goeslaw claimed to have been yelled at by an usher.
Every concert promoter, both the BLACKPINK BORN PINK in Jakarta concert and other concerts, must of course pay attention to the obligations and rights given to ticket buyers. The pleasure of watching a concert is certainly something that every fan is aiming for. It would be nice if that enjoyment was accompanied by the safety and comfort of fans for the common good.
